Nathan Jones’ development squad was supplemented by Paul Hayes and Ruben Bover for the game at Ram Meadow last night.
The smallish crowd witnessed a decent game that the Addicks won 2-1. Paul Hayes put Ade Azeez in for the opener after 19 minutes. Sands levelled for the hosts with 20 minutes to go and was then brought down on the edge of the box six minutes later. Young keeper, Dillon Phillips, was booked for his trouble but would certainly have seen red for the foul in a competitive game.
The game was won three minutes from time when Tobi Sho-Silva was fouled in the box. Joe Pigott despatached the resulting penalty to grab the win.

Tonight the senior squad travel to Broadfield Stadium to face a Crawley side that are likely to be less physical since Steve Evans’ departure.
Bearing in mind Charlton have not played since the Barnet game last Thursday, and with Hayes and Bover being the only senior players involved in Suffolk last night, the Addicks are likely to take a big squad with a plethora of second half substitutions being made.
With all the recent speculation surrounding Chris Solly, it will be interesting to see what part last season’s Player Of The Year.
